Automated Health Checks and Repairs
We are constantly aware of the status of every single node in every cluster we manage. We have systems in place that can detect if a single node in a cluster is misbehaving and we respond immediately to ensure there is no impact to your cluster. If a node happens to fail, it is immediately repaired or replaced.
Zero Down Time
Cassandra, by design, provides continuous availability. That’s zero down-time, even in the case of multiple failed nodes. Not that you have to worry about that though, if that happened we’d have your cluster back to full health before you even had time to notice.
Advanced Monitoring & Alerting
We collect and monitor over one thousand different metrics from every node we manage. That lets us know exactly what the availability and performance of your cluster is at any time. Our advanced monitoring and alerting system (built on Cassandra, of course) can even detect when a single node is starting to behave differently to what it usually does. Now that’s big data!
Low Latency
We have customised and optimised the configuration of Cassandra for every Heroku plan, so you can be guaranteed of the low latency high throughput writes your app needs, without sacrificing read efficiency.

We provide a customized dashboard where you can access important information about your cluster and view real-time status and performance monitors for every node.
EU plans
If your application is required to comply with EU data privacy laws we offer Cassandra clusters hosted entirely in EU. Just remember to select one of the -eu plans when creating the add-on. If you require your cluster in any other region please contact us.
Multiple Cassandra Versions Available
Our add-on provisions a recent version of Cassandra by default. If you need a different version then simply provision a default cluster and contact support@instaclustr.com to arrange an upgrade (with no downtime if necessary). Downgrades are possible under certain circumstances.
